Last year at the Lawrence Holiday Indoor Farmer's Market, I bought a lb. of fresh chestnuts from a vendor, he had some to taste that were freshly roasted and it tasted pretty good, even my 7 yo thought so. We went home and roasted them, peeled, etc., but for some reason we didn't really like them. But I didn't try them in any dishes, just plain.
